Markus Nutivaara was traded to the Florida Panthers by the Columbus Blue Jackets for Cliff Pu on Thursday.
"We are thrilled to welcome Markus to the Panthers," Florida general manager Bill Zito said. "He is a responsible and competitive two-way defenseman who possesses great vision and moves the puck well. He will be an excellent addition to our team and strengthens our depth on defense."
The 26-year-old has two seasons remaining on a four-year contract he signed with the Blue Jackets on March 29, 2018. He scored nine points (three goals, six assists) in 37 games and was minus-1 in two postseason games this season.
