The 27-year-old forward had 39 points (11 goals, 28 assists) in 72 regular-season games for the Carolina Hurricanes and Columbus Blue Jackets last season, including seven points (two goals, five assists) in 19 games after he was acquired in a trade by the Hurricanes on March 21.
Domi had six points (three goals, three assists) in 14 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
Selected by the Phoenix Coyotes in the first round (No. 12) of the 2013 NHL Draft, Domi has 314 points (101 goals, 213 assists) in 501 regular-season games for the Hurricanes, Blue Jackets, Montreal Canadiens and Coyotes, and nine points (three goals six assists) in 24 playoff games.

Andreas Athanasiou also signed a one-year, $3 million contract with the Blackhawks on Wednesday. The forward had 17 points (11 goals, six assists) in 28 regular-season games and one goal in six Stanley Cup Playoff games with the Los Angeles Kings last season.
A fourth-round selection in the 2012 NHL Draft (No. 110) by the Detroit Red Wings, the 27-year-old has 196 points (105 goals, 91 assists) in 378 regular-season games with the Red Wings, Edmonton Oilers and Kings, and two goals in 15 playoff games.
Chicago traded forwards Alex DeBrincat (Ottawa Senators) and Kirby Dach (Montreal Canadiens) last week.
"It was bringing in some good NHL talent, because we did move some pretty good players out," Blackhawks general manager Kyle Davidson said Thursday. "So we had to fill some spots. But also, going with some of the player trades we were looking for with speed, had compete, a combination of all those things. I think it was really important to fill some of the holes that were there on the roster."
Colin Blackwell signed a two-year, $2.4 million contract ($1.2 million average annual value) with Chicago. The forward had 20 points (10 goals, 10 assists) in 58 games with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Seattle Kraken last season. A seventh-round pick (No. 194) in the 2011 draft by the San Jose Sharks, the 29-year-old has 52 points (25 goals, 27 assists) in 138 games with the Nashville Predators, New York Rangers, Kraken and Toronto Maple Leafs.
"With Andreas, he's one of the faster players in our league," Davidson said. "Brings up the speed factor on our team. Max can play up in that top-six area where he can bring a good pace of play but also a really high compete level, which we want to bring up in our group. Colin Blackwell is heart and soul, motor never stops, really happy to get him and drive that work rate up a bit higher. In terms of the short-term nature of it, that's just how it went. It keeps flexibility open for us, but really excited to add the speed and compete level that the three guys bring up top."
