Connor McDavid not only filled up the score sheet on Thursday, he also lit up social media.
The Edmonton Oilers center scored an NHL career-high six points (three goals, three assists) in a 6-2 victory against the Colorado Avalanche at Rogers Place. McDavid became the first Oilers player to have six points in a game since Sam Gagner had eight (four goals, four assists) on Feb. 2, 2012. Not surprisingly, his performance in the Oilers win generated plenty of excitement on Twitter.
Another fan was already thinking about what he would tell his kids about McDavid when he has kids.
My dad told me so many stories about how good Wayne Gretzky was when he was watching the Oilers. If I'm blessed with kids one day, I hope to tell them how special it was watching Connor McDavid. My goodness what a talent. #Oilers#LetsGoOilers
