Forward Micheal Ferland signed a two-year contract worth $3.5 million with the Calgary Flames on Thursday. It has an average annual value of $1.75 million.
Ferland, 25, who was a restricted free agent, was scheduled to have an arbitration hearing in Toronto on July 22. He had 25 points (15 goals, 10 assists) in 76 games with the Flames last season. Ferland, who was selected by Calgary in the fifth round (No. 133) of the 2010 NHL Draft, has 48 points (21 goals, 27 assists) in 173 games.
