Granlund, a 28-year-old forward who was an unrestricted free agent, will get $3.75 million. He scored 30 points (17 goals, 13 assists) in 63 games with the Predators last season and had one assist in four games during the loss to the Arizona Coyotes in the best-of-5 Stanley Cup Qualifiers.
Nashville acquired Granlund in a trade with the Minnesota Wild on Feb. 25, 2019.
Selected by the Wild with the No. 9 pick in the 2010 NHL Draft, Granlund has scored 352 points (111 goals, 241 assists) in 540 regular-season season games with Minnesota and Nashville, and 24 points (nine goals, 15 assists) in 49 Stanley Cup Playoff games.
Haula, a 29-year-old forward who also was an unrestricted free agent, will receive $1.75 million. He scored 24 points (12 goals, 12 assists) in 48 games last season with the Carolina Hurricanes and Florida Panthers, including two assists in seven games after he was traded to Florida on Feb. 24. He scored one goal in four playoff games.
Selected by the Wild in the seventh round (No. 181) of the 2009 NHL Draft, Haula has scored 175 points (85 goals, 90 assists) in 405 regular-season games with the Wild, Vegas Golden Knights, Hurricanes and Panthers, and 23 points (10 goals, 13 assists) in 48 playoff games.
"I am super excited," Haula told the Predators website. "It's a fantastic place to play and live. The team is really good, and they've got some really good core pieces. I'm just hoping to come in and add to that, and ultimately win."
Granlund and Haula are close friends who met as teenagers with the Finland national program and played four seasons together with the Wild (2013-17). Granlund was a groomsman in Haula's wedding in July 2019.
"It's kind of crazy to think back [after meeting in Finland and now playing in the NHL together]," Haula said. "It's awesome we were able to really build a friendship when we were with the Wild. We just became really good friends, and now we're together again."
