Eruzione steps on the ice as USA's honorary captain

Forty-five years after scoring the game-winner in the “Miracle on Ice” game – almost to the day – Mike Eruzione represented the United States once again.

Prior to the 4 Nations Face-Off final between the U.S. and Canada at TD Garden on Thursday, Eruzione served as the U.S’s honorary captain, and wore a No. 13 Johnny Gaudreau jersey as he made his way to center ice.

Wayne Gretzky served as Canada’s honorary captain.

Eruzione gave out fist bumps to the U.S. players as he made his way past the bench, while honoring Gaudreau. He pumped up the crowd before meeting Gretzky at center ice.

The two hockey legends were then joined by U.S. captain Auston Matthews and Canada captain Sidney Crosby.

Matthew Tkachuk was shown wearing a huge smile as Eruzione made his way past.

No doubt Eruzione got the guys going, just like he did in 1980.
