Minnesota Wild defenseman Ryan Suter could play Thursday against the Columbus Blue Jackets after leaving a 6-5 win at the Winnipeg Jets on Tuesday with a lower-body injury, the Star Tribune reported Wednesday.
Suter, 32, left in the first period after a hit from defenseman Paul Postma. Coach Bruce Boudreau told the newspaper he is hopeful Suter can play against the Blue Jackets (7 p.m. ET; FS-O, FS-N, FS-WI, NHL.TV), but that it will be decided by the Wild trainers.

Minnesota forward Zach Parise, who was diagnosed with the mumps Monday, has recovered from the illness but isn't allowed to return to the Wild until Friday, which is an off day. Forward Jason Pominville also was diagnosed with the mumps, but no update was provided on his status.
Suter has 33 points (eight goals, 25 assists) in 61 games and is plus-35, which leads the NHL.
Parise has 28 points (14 goals, 14 assists) in 50 games, and Pominville has 38 (10 goals, 28 assists) in 59 games.
