CHICAGO -- Ryan Suter scored the go-ahead goal for the Minnesota Wild early in the third period of a 2-1 win against the Chicago Blackhawks at United Center on Wednesday.
Devan Dubnyk made 34 saves in the win after allowing six goals on 32 shots in his previous start, a 7-2 loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday.

"You saw the first period. I mean, when they get 41 attempts to our 11, and probably had the puck 15 minutes in our zone, it was embarrassing," Minnesota coach Bruce Boudreau said. "But, to their credit, I thought in the second and third period, they really buckled down and played really hard."

Jonas Brodin scored for the Wild (23-17-4), who won for the first time in three games and ended a four-game road losing streak. Minnesota lost 3-2 in overtime to the Calgary Flames at home Tuesday.
Suter received a pass from Mikko Koivu at 4-on-4 and shot past goalie Anton Forsberg's left shoulder from the top of the right circle to make it 2-1 at 3:03.
"They turned it over and [Jared Spurgeon] was up there with me, and I said, 'If we wouldn't have scored there, I was going to yell at you again for jumping when I'm there,'" Suter said. "But he drove the net, Mikko made a good play, and just put it at the net."
Brent Seabrook scored for the Blackhawks (21-16-6), who lost for the first time in three games to begin their six-game homestand.

"You gotta be ready for these games, especially in the [Central] Division," Chicago forward Patrick Kane said. "They were coming off a game last night, we were coming off a game, so kind of even ground there. But it would have been nice getting two points."
Seabrook, who was a healthy scratch for the first time in his 13-season NHL career for Chicago's 8-2 win at the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday, put the Blackhawks up 1-0 at 12:24 of the first period when he got to the rebound of Michal Kempny's shot and banked the puck into the net off Dubnyk's back.
Boudreau challenged for offside, but the goal was upheld after video review.
Brodin tied it 1-1 at 9:58 of the second period when his slap shot from the left point deflected off Blackhawks forward Tommy Wingels' stick.
"I think it's great," Boudreau said on the road victory. "You've got a day off tomorrow and you've got the momentum. Hopefully that can carry us through at home this weekend (against the Winnipeg Jets)."

They said it

"Every point's so huge and even though there's whatever, 40 games left in the season, it's so crucial at this time of year. And these points are going to add up at the end. Just got to move on and focus on Friday (against the Jets), and hopefully we can come out with a big two points." -- Blackhawks forward Nick Schmaltz
