goalie goal

Clearly 37 saves and an assured victory wasn't enough for Minnesota Wild goalie prospect Jesper Wallstedt, so he decided to score an empty-net goal.

With 37 seconds to play in an American Hockey League game against the Chicago Wolves, Wallstedt made a routine glove save, dropped the puck in front and wristed one about 178 feet down the ice and into the dead center of the open net on Saturday.

Wallstedt, a 19-year-old native of Vasteras, Sweden, selected by the Wild with the 20th pick of the 2021 NHL Draft, had a big night and it called for a big celly.

After being mobbed by teammates, Wallstedt got to skate by the bench and acknoledge the crowd.
Clearly the big club approved.

It was not only the first goalie goal in Iowa Wild history, it was Wallsetdt's

.
Seems like one he won't ever forget.
