Teddy Bear Toss back, better than ever around minor league arenas

'Tis the season to toss teddy bears.

Around the minor league hockey circuit, the Teddy Bear Toss was back after a hiatus in 2020 due to restricted attendance.

For the uninitiated, Teddy Bear Toss events are when fans bring stuffed, soft toys to a game and, after the first goal is scored by the home team, throw them out on the ice.
The plushies are collected and donated to a charity to be given to those in need. With the growing popularity of the event around the college and professional ranks, it would be impossible to share every single Teddy Bear Toss Night, so here are some of our favorites.
The Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League had quite the successful event.

The Western Hockey League's Calgary Hitmen also collected plenty of toys.

Also in the WHL, Edmonton Oil Kings goalie Sebastian Cossa celebrated Teddy Bear Toss night with a customized mask.

The Kansas City Mavericks of the ECHL invoked the Will Ferrell holiday classic "Elf" on their night, wearing jerseys modeled after Buddy the Elf's wardrobe.

The ECHL's Florida Everblades also had bears rain down on them recently.

The Brandon Wheat Kings got those bears to the ice just 20 seconds into their game.

No matter when the Teddy Bear Toss goal happens, there will be a brief delay, but a delay well worth it for a good cause.
