Mirco Mueller
agreed to terms on a one-year, $1.4 million contract with the New Jersey Devils on Monday.

The 24-year-old defenseman, who was a restricted free agent, avoided a salary arbitration hearing scheduled for July 28.
Mueller had an NHL career-high 11 points (one goal, 10 assists) in 53 games with the Devils last season.

Selected by the San Jose Sharks in the first round (No. 18) of the 2013 NHL Draft, he has 21 points (three goals, 18 assists) in 135 games for the Devils and Sharks.
He has no points in three Stanley Cup Playoff games, all with New Jersey.
