Evans scored on the power play to give the Canadiens a 1-0 lead at 4:04 in the first period when he split Esa Lindell and
Jani Hakanpaa
and drove to the front of the net.
"The early penalty kind of killed our start, and they score obviously," Robertson said. "But we're a resilient group and responded the right way. Glad we got it done tonight."
Pezzetta made it 2-0 at 2:24 in the second period on an odd-man rush.
"We know our brand of hockey, when we're on top of teams playing fast and playing hard and quick, we're a very good hockey team, as we showed today for most of the game," Pezzetta said. "I think that was the message going into the game was to play fast, play on top of guys, and raise our standard."
