Bossy

The hockey world mourned Mike Bossy, holding moments of silence before each game on Friday, the first played since news of his
death at age 65.

Bossy, one of the greatest goal-scorers in NHL history -- his 573 are 22nd all time -- won four Stanley Cup titles with the New York Islanders, the only team he played for in 10 seasons.
It seemed wholly appropriate that the Islanders were playing at Bell Centre in Montreal, which is Bossy's hometown.
The Canadiens asked fans for a moment of silence prior to the opening face-off and played a photo montage of Bossy's career, including a shot of him lifting the Stanley Cup.

Bossy was also honored at the only other NHL game played on Friday. The Florida Panthers held a moment of silence at FLA Live Arena before their game against the Winnipeg Jets.

"A moment of silence to start tonight as we honor NHL legend Mike Bossy," the team shared on social media. "Our hearts are with his loved ones and the entire New York Islanders family."
