BOSTON -- Juuse Saros made 35 saves, and the Nashville Predators ended the Boston Bruins' seven-game winning streak with a 2-1 victory at TD Garden on Tuesday.

Saros came within two seconds of a shutout before David Pastrnak scored at 19:58 of the third period.
Cody Glass had a goal and an assist for the Predators (37-28-8), who moved within three points of the Winnipeg Jets for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoff race from the Western Conference. The Jets lost 3-0 at the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday.
"We didn't turn pucks over and tried not to give them any easy offense, because they're a deadly team," Nashville coach John Hynes said. "When we were called upon to defend, we defended the net front very well. I thought we defended the backside of the net very well. We had commitment to shot-blocking, and that's what you need."
Linus Ullmark made 21 saves for the Bruins (57-12-5), who would have clinched the Presidents' Trophy after the Carolina Hurricanes lost 4-0 to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday.
"If we play the way that we have all year, then business will take care of [itself]," Boston forward Brad Marchand said. "It's in our hands. Obviously it would have been nice to clinch that tonight, but we didn't."
Each team went 0-for-5 on the power play.
"You want to play 5-on-5, kind of get your feet under you," Glass said. "But at the same time, going through all that stuff, you have to be dialed in and focus [on] whatever comes your way. A little adversity to start the game, but we had our power plays, they had their power plays and couldn't take advantage, but our [penalty kill] did a good job."

NSH@BOS: Glass scores the 1st of the game in the 2nd

Brandon Carlo nearly opened the scoring for the Bruins on a short-handed rush at 16:25 of the first period, when his backhand got between Saros' pads. The puck was about to trickle in before Nashville forward Luke Evangelista swiped it away.
The play was reviewed at the next stoppage, and it was determined the puck did not cross the goal line.
"They cleared a lot of pucks after we took shots to the net," Boston coach Jim Montgomery said. "When you're on top of your power play, you're converging at the net, you're coming up with those pucks."
Glass gave Nashville a 1-0 lead at 18:11 of the second period, corralling a loose puck in the slot and shooting past Ullmark's blocker.
Cole Smith scored an empty-net goal at 18:41 of the third to make it 2-0 before Pastrnak scored with two seconds remaining for the 2-1 final.
Saros made 15 saves in the third.
"We didn't play to our standards and to our process and our details," Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron said. "When you do that, you force plays and you don't really respect the way you want to play the game and kind of get away from how you're successful."
NOTES:Nashville is 24-1-3 when leading after the second period. … It was the Bruins' fourth regulation loss at home this season (30-4-3). … Bergeron had a five-game point streak end (eight points; three goals, five assists). … A
