signed a one-year, $1.5 million contract with the Nashville Predators on Thursday.

The 27-year-old goalie was 8-15-6 with a 3.50 goals-against average and .891 save percentage in 32 games (29 starts) for the Chicago Blackhawks last season.
Signed by Chicago as an undrafted free agent on May 21, 2018, Lankinen is 25-29-11 with a 3.23 GAA, .901 save percentage and two shutouts in 69 games (66 starts).
Lankinen could back up starter Juuse Saros, who was 38-25-3 with a 2.64 GAA, .918 save percentage and four shutouts in 67 game last season. Saros was a finalist for the Vezina Trophy as the best goalie in the NHL, leading the League in games played and finishing third in wins.

The Predators (45-30-7) were the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Western Conference. They were swept by the Colorado Avalanche in the first round.
