Nathan Bastian signed a two-year, $2.7 million contract to remain with the New Jersey Devils on Saturday. It has an average annual value of $1.35 million.

The 25-year-old forward, who was an unrestricted free agent, had 15 points (six goals, nine assists) in 43 regular-season games for the Devils last season and two points (one goal, one assist) in 12 Stanley Cup Playoff games.

"These guys are kind of our best buds (in New Jersey)," Bastian said. "Now we've been since Day One of the upward trajectory moving forward, and the League doesn't get any easier but our team keeps getting better so hopefully things look good for us."

Selected by New Jersey in the second round (No. 41) of the 2016 NHL Draft, Bastian has 46 points (24 goals, 22 assists) in 163 regular-season games for the Seattle Kraken and Devils.

New Jersey also signed Michael McLeod to a one-year, $1.5 million contract Saturday.

The 25-year-old forward, who also was an unrestricted free agent, had an NHL career-high 26 points (four goals, 22 assists) in 80 regular-season games for the Devils last season and six points (two goals, four assists) in 12 Stanley Cup Playoff games.

"This is where I want to be and I guess a little bit of betting myself and betting on our team," McLeod said. "I think we're have a great team this year and this is where I want to be long term, so hopefully everything works out."

Selected by New Jersey in the first round (No. 12) of the 2016 NHL Draft, McLeod has 66 points (19 goals, 47 assists) in 242 regular-season games.
