MacKinnon-Duchene

TORONTO --Nathan MacKinnon said trading forward Matt Duchene has had a positive effect on the Colorado Avalanche.
Asked if the culture of the Avalanche improved after Duchene was traded to the Ottawa Senators as part of a three-way trade that included the Nashville Predators on Nov. 5, MacKinnon said: "It did a lot."

, a first-round pick in the 2018 NHL Draft and a third-round pick in the 2019 NHL Draft from the Senators for Duchene, who had asked to be traded. It also received a second-round pick in the 2018 draft, defenseman Samuel Girard and forward Vladislav Kamenev from the Predators, who received center Kyle Turris from the Senators.
MacKinnon was named NHL First Star of the Week on Monday. In three games last week, he had six points (four goals, two assists), including two game-winning goals.

He's second in the League in scoring with 59 points (23 goals, 36 assists), two behind Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov.
The nine-game winning streak matches the second-longest in Avalanche/Quebec Nordiques history, set Oct. 10-28, 2000, the same season the Avalanche won their second Stanley Cup. The franchise record for longest winning streak is 12, from Jan. 10-Feb. 7, 1999.
