Taylor-Hall 2-7

NEWARK, N.J. -- Taylor Hall could find out this week if he will play again this season for the New Jersey Devils.

The 27-year-old forward has missed the past 28 games and 30 of 34 because of a lower-body injury.
"We'll get a better determination this week. We're going to make sure he's 100 percent before he's back on the ice," Devils general manager Ray Shero said Monday before New Jersey played the Montreal Canadiens. "He wants to play, but at the same time, we're not going to rush anyone back. I think we'll have to make that decision when we have more news, and I believe that's coming.
"If he could come back and play at some point but only safely and with no long-term impact, that'll be fantastic, but we have to make sure he's confident and our medical staff is comfortable."
Hall was injured during practice Dec. 13 and missed the next two games before returning Dec. 18. He aggravated the injury against the Columbus Blue Jackets on Dec. 23 and hasn't played since.
"There has not been a setback, and it's a matter of finding exactly the right solution," Shero said. "If anyone is wondering, he wants to play badly, so we'll see where that brings us over the next few days and get a clearer picture."
Hall, who won the Hart Trophy as NHL MVP last season when he had an NHL career-high 93 points (39 goals, 54 assists) in 76 games, is on injured reserve. He has 37 points (11 goals, 26 assists) in 33 games this season.
