The New Jersey Devils forward is facing discipline for boarding Philadelphia Flyers center Nolan Patrick on Friday.
The incident occurred at 5:02 of the first period during Philadelphia's 6-3 win at Prudential Center. Gabriel received a five-minute major penalty for boarding. Patrick returned to play the remainder of the game.
The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: Boarding. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
