The New York Islanders visited their fellow boys in blue and orange on Wednesday.
The New York Mets hosted a special Islanders night at Citi Field. Islanders forward Josh Bailey threw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the Mets game against the Chicago Cubs. Adam Pelech, Anthony Beauvillier, Ross Johnston and Scott Mayfield joined Bailey on the field.
Bailey's sons Wyatt and Mack stole the show prior to the ceremony. The two boys sported Mets ace Jacob deGrom jerseys and helped their dad warm up before the pitch.
Later, the boys got to sit at the Mets media podium. "Raise your hand if you cheer for the Islanders," one of the Bailey boys said as the other raised his hand in a Twitter video posted by the Islanders.
Meanwhile, Islanders mascot Sparky befriended Mets mascot Mr. Met and had a dance-off on top of the dugout. Unfortunately for Sparky, Mr. Met won the competition. There were no hard feelings though; later the duo swapped jerseys and threw t-shirts into the crowd.
