Rask helps Bruins top Islanders

BOSTON -- Boston Bruins goalie Tuukka Rask extended his winning streak to four games with 30 saves in a 3-1 win against the New York Islanders at TD Garden on Saturday.
Rask has allowed four goals in the four wins for the Bruins (14-9-4), who have won eight of their past 10 games.

"Yeah I've had good rhythm to my game," Rask said. "Guys are doing a good job eliminating the second chances, and obviously if you don't get rebounds all the time it helps too. But we're skating back so hard that we are kind of forcing them to take shots in bad spots, and when they don't have all the time in the world to pick the corners, it's kind of easier for me too."

Brad Marchand, Jake DeBrusk and Danton Heinen scored, and Torey Krug and David Pastrnak each had two assists for Boston. The Bruins were 4-for-4 on the penalty kill in 8:12 of shorthanded time.
"The kill was big, it has been all year," Marchand said. "That's a pretty big staple of our team to have a good penalty kill, good special teams. Another example. [The Islanders] have a really good power play ... with that amount of penalties they had and the amount of kills we had to do, the boys did a good job."

Anders Lee scored for the Islanders (16-10-3), who have lost three straight games. Jaroslav Halak made 30 saves.
"Power-play-wise we need to click a little better," Islanders defenseman Calvin de Haan said. "I thought it was pretty sloppy for the most part the entire night. So sharpening that up, it helps give guys confidence. It's one game ... [the Bruins] did a good job. It's on us to be that much better and find ways to get wins."
Marchand gave the Bruins the 1-0 lead with a power-play goal at 10:51 of the second period. After Krug carried the puck up the ice, he hit Marchand in stride at the New York blue line. Marchand beat Halak with a wrist shot from the left dot.
DeBrusk extended the lead to 2-0 with an acrobatic move at 6:45 of the third period. The rookie received a pass from Krug at the bottom of the left circle, skated to the high slot and spun around before beating Halak high to the glove side with a wrist shot.
"I just wanted to get the puck on net," said DeBrusk, who scored his sixth goal of the season. "I was kind of trying to obviously generate maybe a rebound. It was kind of a weird play, I didn't really know where the net was. I kind of had an idea but I just turned and just shot as hard as I could and it went in. So it was nice to see that."

Lee scored on a tap-in to make it 2-1 with 3:08 remaining after a cross-crease pass by Josh Bailey just as a New York power play expired.
Heinen scored an empty-net goal with 42 seconds left to make it 3-1.
