The New York Islanders honored Mike Bossy with an emotional pregame video tribute at UBS Arena Tuesday.
Fans chanted the former Islanders forward's name after the tribute highlighting his career aired. A moment of silence was then held. Bossy's daughter Tanya, and granddaughters Alex and Gabrielle were in attendance for the tribute.
Bossy died Friday, at the age of 65, after a battle with lung cancer. He won four consecutive Stanly Cup championships with the Islanders and was elected to the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1991. Prior to Tuesday's game, the Islanders encouraged fans to bring flowers to place in front of Bossy's plaque on the Hall of Fame wall at UBS Arena.
