"The first game, I thought early it was fast for him," Islanders coach Barry Trotz said. "And then I think he settled in pretty well, obviously. I thought he just kept getting better and better and got the goal. That was a real good shot, a good play by [Mathew Barzal]."
Turris gave the Predators a 4-2 lead at 4:32 of the third period on the power play. Roman Josi intercepted the puck and passed to Turris for his first goal.

"We're at home," Turris said. "Just carry the momentum we had from last game and come off to a good start, which we did. We had a little bit of a letdown in the second, but we found a way to finish it in the third."
Forsberg scored an empty-net goal at 19:00 of the third period to make it 5-2.

They said it

"I thought in the first 10 minutes, we were fine. I knew it was going to be a little bit of a chore. I've seen this act before in this building. It's a hard building to come into. I thought the crowd wasn't into it. They were outshooting us, but they really weren't getting anything for about the first 10 minutes and then we started turning pucks over. It was a free-for-all. And then they score a goal, the crowd gets into it, they get another one and then we gave up that third one right at the end of the period. That really hurt." -- Islanders coach Barry Trotz
"We did a lot of good things. It's tough to keep that going, especially against all the teams in this league. Everyone is a good team. We had to clean up a little bit in the second, but I felt like we had a good response in the third and shut it down." -- Predators forward Ryan Johansen
