How much does a polar bear weigh? Enough to break the ice, that's why he had to sit in the stands.

New York Mets all-star first baseman Pete Alonso, nicknamed "the polar bear" by teammates, took in the a game at Amalie Arena on Tuesday when the Tampa Bay Lightning hosted the Detroit Red Wings.

The two-time Home Run Derby champion, who set Major League Baseball's rookie single season home run record with 53 in 2019, is a Tampa native.
