1994 Rangers short shifts

The winning bid for a chance to play against members of the 1994 Stanley Cup champion New York Rangers as part of the ALL IN Challenge auction was $120,500, the team said on Saturday.

Bidding opened at $5,000. There were 42 bids submitted, according to the website for the ALL IN Challenge, the brainchild of Fanatics founder and executive chairman Michael Rubin.

All proceeds go to Meals on Wheels, No Kid Hungry, America's Food Fund, Feeding America, and World Central Kitchen

The Rangers announced they had accepted the ALL IN Challenge on April 15 with a message from president John Davidson that they posted on their social media platforms.

They offered the opportunity to bring a team of up to 20 players to Madison Square Garden to play against Rangers legends Mark Messier, Brian Leetch, Adam Graves and Mike Richter among others from the 1994 team. Mike Keenan, who coached the Rangers that season, will be behind the bench of the team selected by the winning bidder.

In addition, longtime Rangers broadcaster Sam Rosen and Davidson, who was Rosen's partner in the broadcast booth from 1986-2006, will announce the game.
