NYR-subway 12-2

Jimmy Vesey, Brady Skjei and Kevin Hayes took the subway to work like real New Yorkers on Saturday.

The three New York Rangers put on their work attire, then rode the subway in their jerseys and full gear to the team's special outdoor practice at Central Park.
"We definitely got a couple looks, but I think it's awesome," Vesey said. "The whole Winter Classic is a great event and it's all about growing the game of hockey. Getting out there in public on the subway, I think definitely goes along with that cause."

"We saw a few [fans] on our way here," Vesey said. "They were excited to see us and it was definitely fun to bring them along and get to know them."
The Rangers had an open practice at Lasker Rink in the park in preparation for their upcoming game against the Buffalo Sabres at Citi Field in the 2018 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic on Jan. 1. Besides just riding the rails, Vesey, Skjei and Hayes engaged with Rangers fans who also were on the way to the practice. Two lucky fans got the selfie of a lifetime.

After taking the underground train, the boys took the long walk through Central Park to the rink, where they made it just it time for the 11:45 a.m. ET start.
