The trade deadline is 28 days after the NHL is scheduled to return following a break from Feb. 3-22 to allow players to participate in the 2022 Beijing Olympics as part of an agreement between the NHL, NHL Players' Association and International Ice Hockey Federation.
The last day of the regular season is scheduled for April 29 and the Stanley Cup Playoffs would begin May 2.
The last possible day of the Stanley Cup Final is June 30.
The 2022 NHL Draft is scheduled for July 7-8 at Bell Centre in Montreal. The first round will take place on July 7 with the second through seventh rounds July 8.
The NHL announced on Sept. 17 that the Montreal Canadiens would host the draft and club executives, scouts and coaches will be present on the draft floor. Fans and media are also expected to be in attendance.
The signing period for restricted and unrestricted free agents will begin July 13 at noon ET.
