Vegas Golden Knights

Jonathan Marchessault is day to day with a lower-body injury and will not play against the St. Louis Blues on Friday (10 p.m. ET; ATTSN-RM, BSMW, ESPN+, SN NOW).
The forward sustained the injury in the third period of a 5-2 victory against the Arizona Coyotes on Wednesday.
Forward
Pavel Dorofeyev
was recalled from Henderson of the American Hockey League.
Marchessault is tied for second on Vegas with 14 goals and is fourth with 27 points in 35 games.
"We'll miss his ability to score," coach Bruce Cassidy said. "He's a dynamic player that really brings energy to the dressing room and the bench. So, that's the part of it I think we will miss." -- Paul Delos Santos

New Jersey Devils

Ryan Graves has a lower-body injury and did not play for the Devils against the Boston Bruins.
The defenseman was injured in the first period of a 4-2 win at the Florida Panthers on Wednesday after getting tangled with Panthers forward Zac Dalpe and falling into the boards.
"He'll be further evaluated and will see doctors tonight," coach Lindy Ruff said Friday morning. "So, short term, he's out."
Additionally, Devils defenseman John Marino missed a second straight game with an upper-body injury and is considered week to week. Marino was injured late in the second period of a 4-1 loss at the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday.
Forward Ondrej Palat, who has been out since Oct. 25 with a lower-body injury, is close to returning.
"Palat is getting closer," Ruff said. "He's skating, full workouts now. He's close to joining the team for practice. I don't have a date in mind, but it's close." -- Mike G. Morreale

Chicago Blackhawks

Alex Stalock made his first start since sustaining a concussion Nov. 1 when the Blackhawks hosted the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday.
The goalie was activated off injured reserve Monday. He was injured when he collided with New York Islanders forward Casey Cizikas 2:54 into a 3-1 loss. Coach Luke Richardson was confident Stalock's return would provide a boost.
"Even when he's not perfect, he has a sense of humor about it. He just embraces what he is, and the guys like it," Richardson said. "The guys like him. He's a battler out there, brings a little comedy to the professional that he is because he works his butt off in practice every day. Every shot, he's trying to stop. If someone hoots and hollers that they got a good one, he gets sarcastic, 'Oh, yeah, that was really good.' Do-it-in-a-game type thing. It's nice to have him back and I think it'll be uplifting for the rest of the guys." -- Tracey Myers

New York Islanders

Aatu Raty made his NHL debut when the Islanders hosted the Florida Panthers on Friday.
The 20-year-old forward was recalled from Bridgeport of the American Hockey League. A second-round pick (No. 52) at the 2021 NHL Draft, Raty has 12 points (five goals, seven assists) in 23 AHL games this season.
Defenseman
Parker Wotherspoon
also was recalled from Bridgeport and made his NHL debut.
The Islanders placed goalie Semyon Varlamov on injured reserve, retroactive to Dec. 17, with a lower-body injury, and forward Kyle Palmieri on injured reserve, retroactive to Dec. 16, with an upper-body injury.
Cizikas did not play against the Panthers because of an upper-body injury sustained in the second period of a 5-3 loss at the New York Rangers on Thursday. -- Denis P. Gorman
