Toronto Maple Leafs

Matt Murray is out until after the All-Star break for the Maple Leafs with an ankle injury.
The goalie has not played since Jan. 17, when he allowed four goals on eight shots in 21:41 in a 5-4 overtime win against the Florida Panthers.
Coach Sheldon Keefe said there is no definitive timeline for Murray to return but added that the injury is not considered long term.
"There's something there that is going to require some time, for sure," Keefe said. "The length of time we won't really know until we come back from the break."
Toronto's first game after the break will be at the Columbus Blue Jackets on Feb. 10.
Joseph Woll, who was recalled from Toronto of the American Hockey League on an emergency basis, will back up Ilya Samsonov against the Washington Capitals on Sunday and Boston Bruins on Wednesday.
Woll is 12-1-0 with a 2.46 goals-against average and a .928 save percentage in the AHL this season.
TJ Brodie played against the Capitals on Sunday after he was activated off injured reserve earlier in the day.
The 32-year-old, who missed 10 games with a rib injury, has eight points (two goals, six assists) in 28 games this season.
In order to make room for Brodie and Woll on the roster, the Maple Leafs placed forward Auston Matthews (knee sprain) on injured reserve and loaned forward Bobby McMann to the Marlies in the AHL. Matthews is expected to be out three weks. -- Mike Zeisberger

Washington Capitals

Tom Wilson won't play in the Capitals' final two games before the All-Star break, coach Peter Laviolette said Saturday.
The forward did not play in a 3-2 shootout win against the Pittsburgh Penguins on Thursday after he was injured blocking a shot off his right leg in a 3-2 loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday.
Washington's first game after the break is at the Boston Bruins on Feb. 11.
"He won't be available before the break here, and then I think we'll just assess everything when we get back from the break," Laviolette said.
Forward Nic Dowd, who has missed five games with a lower-body injury, is also out until at least after the break.
"We'll assess him just like we will probably the other players when we come back after the break," Laviolette said. -- Tom Gulitti

St. Louis Blues

Robert Thomas did not play for the Blues in a 4-2 loss at the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday.
The forward is day to day because of a lower-body injury he sustained early in the second period of a 5-0 loss at the Arizona Coyotes on Thursday. Thomas, who did not practice Friday, leads the Blues with 31 assists and is second with 43 points in 47 games.
"I think he's doing better," Blues coach Craig Berube said before the loss to the Avalanche. "We'll see if he can get on the ice tomorrow. ... He's a real good player, obviously, in all situations. He'll be missed for sure."
Forward Nikita Alexandrov was recalled from Springfield of the American Hockey League and replaced Thomas in the lineup against the Avalanche. He has four points (two goals, two assists) in 17 NHL games this season.
St. Louis assigned defenseman Tyler Tucker to the AHL.
"We need a center [after] losing a guy in Robby," Berube said. "[Alexandrov] played pretty good with us when he was up here. (He) has played pretty detailed, gets pretty involved physically and (has) decent puck skills."-- Lou Korac

Columbus Blue Jackets

Gustav Nyquist is out indefinitely for the Blue Jackets with an upper-body injury.
The forward, who was injured late in the first period of a 3-2 overtime win at the Edmonton Oilers on Wednesday, was placed on injured reserve Saturday.
"He's got more of a voice than people think in the [locker] room, but his best asset is he does it by example," coach Brad Larsen said Friday. "He doesn't have to say much because he's always prepared, he gets in great shape, his competitiveness is always there. All those attributes that you want in a player, he has them."
Nyquist has 22 points (10 goals, 12 assists) in 48 games and is one of two players on Columbus who is averaging more than a minute per game on the power play (1:42) and penalty kill (1:44) this season (center Jack Roslovic; 2:18 and 1:47).
"He's a guy I've really leaned on, so we're going to miss him," Larsen said. "He's in every situation. He's kind of a stabilizer for me. He's so consistent in what he gives, effort and the pace he can play at."
Columbus claimed Lane Pederson off waivers from the Vancouver Canucks on Saturday. The 25-year-old forward had three points (one goal, two assists) in 11 games with the Canucks this season. -- Kevin Woodley
