Boston Bruins

Brad Marchand
and Brandon Carlo returned to the lineup against the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday (NESN, MSG, SNE, SNO, SNP, NHL.TV).
Marchand missed two games since he was placed in NHL COVID-19 protocol Saturday. The forward said it was a false positive, and practiced on the top line with Patrice Bergeron and David Pastrnak.
"You never want to miss a game. You never want to miss a day on the ice," Marchand said. "But every team is going through it. … This is a bump in the road. This is what comes with it, to be able to play the games and to do our job. So we're not going to complain about this with everything that's going on and what people are going through. To miss a couple days isn't a big deal. Back at it tonight."
Marchand led the Bruins with 34 points (12 goals, 22 assists) in 29 games.
Carlo sustained a concussion on a hit from Washington Captials forward Tom Wilson on March 5 and missed 10 games. Wilson was suspended seven games by the NHL Department of Player Safety. Carlo skated on the second defense pair with Matt Grzelcyk. The defenseman scored three points (two goals, one assist) in 21 games.
"I got cleared yesterday," Carlo said. "They kind of asked me if I felt like I would need a little time for the rust and everything, but no, I'm super excited to get back and play in the lineup. … I'm excited to get back out there and trying to help and be an energetic voice on the bench." -- Amalie Benjamin

Philadelphia Flyers

Shayne Gostisbehere was placed on waivers by the Flyers.
The defenseman has scored 11 points (five goals, six assists) and is averaging 20:01 of ice time in 25 games this season. Gostisbehere, a left-hand shot, recently had been playing the right side on the third defense pair with Samuel Morin. He also has played on the right side on the top defense pair with Ivan Provorov.
Gostisbehere has two seasons remaining after this one on a contract he signed June 9, 2017. If the 27-year-old is unclaimed by another team by 12 p.m. ET on Wednesday, he can be assigned to the taxi squad or Lehigh Valley of the American Hockey League.
The Flyers visit the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday (7:30 p.m. ET; NBCSN, NBCSP).
"It just gives us a little bit more flexibility from player personnel," coach Alain Vigneault said. "I'm not sure about my lineup tomorrow. I'm not sure if he's going to be in. But if he's in, then he's in, and if he's not, then he's on the taxi squad and it permits me to have one more player available on our roster."
Gostisbehere was selected by the Flyers in the third round (No. 78) of the 2012 NHL Draft and has scored 210 points (56 goals, 154 assists) in 365 NHL games. -- Adam Kimelman

Carolina Hurricanes

Vincent Trocheck could return to the lineup against the Chicago Blackhawks (7:30 p.m. ET; NBCSN, NBCSCH, NHL.TV) after missing eight games with an upper-body injury, coach Rod Brind'Amour said.
Trocheck was the center on the second line with Andrei Svechnikov and Jesper Fast at practice Monday. He last played in a 3-2 overtime win against the Florida Panthers on March 9.
Carolina is 5-1-2 without Trocheck, who has scored eight points during a six-game point streak (four goals, four assists). He is third on the Hurricanes in goals (13) behind Sebastian Aho (15) and Nino Niederreiter (14).

Ottawa Senators

Matt Murray practiced Monday for the first time since the goalie sustained an upper-body injury during warmups for a game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on March 14.
"It felt great and good to be back out there and competing with everyone again," Murray said. "We're happy with how [the injury's] progressing and I felt really good today. It's been getting better and better every day and it was nice to get a full practice in and test it."
Murray said he considers himself day to day. The Senators host the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday (7 p.m. ET; TSN5, RDS, TSN2, NHL.TV).
"It's going in the right direction and getting better every day and that's all you can really ask for at this point," he said. "Today was a big step. It was good to get back out there again."
