New Jersey Devils

Timo Meier will make his Devils debut Sunday against the Arizona Coyotes at Mullett Arena on Sunday (7 p.m. ET; BSAZ, MSGSN, ESPN+, SN NOW).
The 26-year-old forward was acquired in a trade with the San Jose Sharks on Feb. 26, but an upper-body injury has sidelined him since Feb. 18. He had 52 points (31 goals, 21 assists) in 57 games for the Sharks.
"Timo is going to play," coach Lindy Ruff said. "He feels good. Looking forward to seeing him play."
Meier went through a full practice Saturday.
"Getting out there with the team and practicing … [I'm] very excited and can't wait to get into game action," Meier said Saturday. "It's great watching, [the Devils are] a fun team to watch, but you want to get out there and compete with them."
Meier practiced at left wing on a line with Jack Hughes and Jesper Bratt.
"You put a dynamic scorer on the left side and a guy [Hughes] that really shoots it well," Ruff said. "You've got great speed with 'Bratter' on the other side. It's an interesting mix."
Hughes is fourth in the NHL in shots (257) and Meier is sixth (255).
"Sometimes I think when a new guy steps in, you try to feed him too much," Ruff said. "You've got to make the plays that are there and, if you've got a great shot, take it." -- Alan Robinson

Vegas Golden Knights

Jonathan Quick is playing his first game for the Golden Knights against the Montreal Canadiens at T-Mobile Arena on Sunday.
"I can't get into his head and what it means to him, but he's here because he still wants to play," Vegas coach Bruce Cassidy said Saturday. "He feels he can help the team win. I do know that, 100 percent. He'll get that opportunity this little bit."
Vegas acquired Quick in a trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday, one day after the 37-year-old, two-time Stanley Cup-winning goalie was traded to the Blue Jackets by the Los Angeles Kings.
This will be the first game of Quick's 16-season NHL career when he will not be wearing a Kings uniform.
Quick has not played since Feb. 26, when he was pulled after allowing three goals on seven shots in 23:37 for the Kings during a 5-2 loss at the New York Rangers. He is 11-13-4 this season with a 3.50 goals-against average, .876 save percentage and one shutout in 31 games (27 starts)
Forward William Carrier is out indefinitely after leaving in the first period of a 4-3 shootout win against the New Jersey Devils on Friday after a hit by Devils defenseman Dougie Hamilton.

Columbus Blue Jackets

Sean Kuraly will be out six weeks for the Blue Jackets because of a left oblique strain.
The forward sustained the injury in practice Thursday. The timeline likely means he will miss the remainder of the season.
"A big blow to us but there's not much we can do about it," Blue Jackets coach Brad Larsen said Friday. "You've got to move forward and it's an opportunity for some other centermen to fill those minutes. He's very consistent performer and what you get from him, the intangibles, the stuff people don't really talk about. He's very low maintenance.
"He gives max effort. He's physical, he's good in the face-off circle (49.1 percent), his penalty kill. You can match him up against other top lines. He can skate. So, all those things are going to be missed, no question."
Kuraly has 17 points (10 goals, seven assists) in 59 games this season. He leads Columbus in hits (156) and leads its forwards in short-handed ice time per game (2:17).
"It's definitely gutting," linemate Mathieu Olivier said. "He's an important guy for us. He's out best penalty killer. He's a great face-off guy. You can put him in any situation." -- Craig Merz
