Vasily Podkolzin and Jack Rathbone were reassigned to Abbotsford of the AHL on Monday.
Podkolzin, a forward, was the No. 10 pick in the 2019 NHL Draft. He has three assists in 16 games this season. He missed two games because of facial injuries sustained in his first NHL fight Nov. 13, returned to play in a 5-4 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights on Nov. 21, and has been a healthy scratch throughout the Canucks' season-high three-game winning streak.
He played his rookie season in the NHL in 2021-22 and had 26 points (14 goals, 12 assists) in 79 games with Vancouver. The 21-year-old didn't play in the AHL until after his first Canucks season was over, when he had one goal and one assist in two AHL playoff games with Abbotsford.
Rathbone, a defenseman, has one assist in six games this season and has been a healthy scratch for the other 16 games, including the past eight. Selected by Vancouver in the fourth round (No. 95) of the 2017 NHL Draft, the 23-year-old had 40 points (10 goals, 30 assists) in 39 games in his first full AHL season in 2021-22, but has four points (one goal, three assists) in 23 NHL games with the Canucks over parts of the past three seasons. -- Kevin Woodley
