NHL.com staff picks: Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy

The 2016 NHL Awards will take place at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on June 22, and NHL.com staffers will be providing their selections for the winners.
The Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy is given "to the player who best exemplifies the qualities of perseverance, sportsmanship and dedication to hockey." The finalists for the 2015-16 season are forwards Jaromir Jagr of the Florida Panthers, Mats Zuccarello of the New York Rangers and Pascal Dupuis of the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Here are NHL.com's staff picks for the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy:

Pascal Dupuis: He got to lift the Stanley Cup on June 12. The NHL Awards will bring him some more hardware, in the form of the Masterton Trophy, with his perseverance and dedication to hockey unquestioned. Dupuis was forced to end his career this season due to recurring blood clots.

Jaromir Jagr: Jagr, 44, is always one of the first guys on the ice and last guys off, and consistently stays at the arena long after the game to keep himself in excellent shape. It continues to show on the ice; Jagr led the Panthers with 66 points in 79 games.

Pascal Dupuis: One of the good guys in the game did everything he could to play, until his body wouldn't let him anymore.

Jaromir Jagr: Jagr never seems to stop working to maintain his high level of play through 22 seasons in the NHL. Remarkably, he led the Panthers with 66 points at age 44, helping them finish in first place in the Atlantic Division.

Jaromir Jagr: At 44, Jagr is the oldest player on the Panthers by five years but still led them with 66 points and was second with 27 goals behind Aleksander Barkov (28). Jagr's dedication to the game is legendary and influential. His teammates see him putting in extra work after practice and follow along, and the result this season was the Panthers winning the Atlantic Division.

Mats Zuccarello: An amazing comeback this season after losing his ability to speak for four days after sustaining a fractured skull and brain contusion during the 2015 Stanley Cup Playoffs. Zuccarello played a career-high 81 games, led the Rangers in points and was second in goals to help the team qualify for the playoffs. He had career highs in goals (26), assists (35), points (61) and time on ice (18:29 per game).

Mats Zuccarello:Zuccarello wasn't sure if his career was over after sustaining a fractured skull during the 2015 playoffs. Zuccarello temporarily lost his ability to speak and sustained temporary numbness on one side of his face. However, he came back this season and led the Rangers in scoring with 61 points in 81 games.

Jaromir Jagr: Jagr epitomizes what this trophy is all about. He is 44 years old and he continues to thrive because his dedication to training and his craft is second to none. He has been lauded as much for his off-ice influence on the Panthers as a role model to the younger players and his on-ice influence as Florida's leading scorer with 66 points.
