Luke Hughes and Matthew Coronato, A-rated prospects for the 2021 NHL Draft, are among the 43 players invited to play in the 2021 BioSteel All-American Game.

The event will feature many of the top draft-eligible players from the USA Hockey National Team Development Program Under-18 team against a team of draft-eligible players from the United States Hockey League. The game will be played at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan, on April 7 (8 p.m. ET; NHLN).
"I think with everything that's going on in the world, you've just got to be thankful for every day that you're on the ice, every game you're playing, every practice," NTDP U-18 coach Dan Muse said. "It just shows the progress that we've made moving forward. These guys want to play. It gives them an opportunity for another game and it's great if there's an opportunity for another evaluation. So there's a lot of positives."
Hughes (6-foot-2, 180 pounds), a defenseman, is one of three NTDP players to receive an A-rating from NHL Central Scouting on its Players to Watch list for March, along with center Chaz Lucius (6-1, 185) and right wing Sasha Pastujov (6-0, 181). Hughes leads the NTDP with 28 assists and is third with 34 points in 38 games.
Hughes is the third member of his family to play in the All-American Game, following Vancouver Canucks defenseman Quinn Hughes in 2017 and New Jersey Devils forward Jack Hughes in 2018.
Coronato (5-11, 183), a right wing, is one of five players from Chicago of the USHL playing in the game, along with A-rated right wing Mackie Samoskevich (5-11, 189). Others include B-rated defenseman Ryan Ufko (5-10, 178), B-rated right wing Josh Doan (6-2, 180) and C-rated left wing Jack Harvey (5-10, 165).
Coronato leads the USHL in goals (36) and power-play goals (14), and is second in points (66), eight behind Chicago forward Sean Farrell (Montreal Canadiens).
Two other A-rated players will be on the USHL team, Fargo center Tristan Broz (6-0, 176) and Sioux Falls center Cole Sillinger (6-0, 190).
Muse will coach the NTDP team, joined by NTDP U-18 assistants Mike Leone and Greg Mauldin. The USHL team will be coached by Pat Mikesch (Green Bay), Pierre-Paul Lamoureux (Fargo) and Mike Garman (Chicago).
