Patrick Kane, RW (NHL.com rank: 12) -- Kane remains a valuable skater in fantasy after scoring 84 points (33 goals, 51 assists) in 70 games last season. His production was impressive considering the Blackhawks power play was 28th in the NHL at 15.2 percent during the regular season. Kane's 61 even-strength points were fourth in the NHL, behind Artemi Panarin of the New York Rangers (71), Leon Draisaitl of the Edmonton Oilers (66) and Nathan MacKinnon of the Colorado Avalanche (62). Despite the Blackhawks opting to rebuild, Kane remains a valuable first round selection in standard 12-team leagues.
Blackhawks 31 IN 31: [Season preview | 3 Questions | Top prospects | Behind the Numbers]
Jonathan Toews, C (75) -- Toews scored 60 points (18 goals, 42 assists) in 70 games last season, his second-best point total in the past five seasons despite scoring 18 goals, his fewest in his 13 NHL seasons. His dip in scoring can be attributed to a low shooting percentage (10.5 percent), down from his NHL career average of 13.9 percent. Toews should be targeted among the top 75 skaters and likely will return value as a top-two center. UPDATE: Toews is out indefinitely because of an illness.
Dominik Kubalik, LW/RW (90) -- Kubalik led NHL rookie forwards with 46 points (30 goals, 16 assists) in 68 games last season. His 30 goals were the most by a rookie since Kyle Connor of the Winnipeg Jets scored 31 in 2017-18, which is encouraging for Kubalik's career trajectory. Kubalik formed chemistry with Toews on the top line and locked up a spot on Chicago's top power-play unit, bringing exposure to Kane. With high goal totals and consistent lineup placement, Kubalik is a sneaky dual-eligible forward to select among the top 100.
Alex DeBrincat, LW/RW (131) -- He fell shy of fantasy expectations with 45 points (18 goals, 27 assists) in 70 games after scoring 76 points (41 goals, 35 assists) in 2018-19. The drop in production likely will hurt DeBrincat's average draft position this season, but fantasy owners should consider his shooting percentage of 8.7 percent last season was well below his NHL career average of 14.3 percent, making him a bounce-back candidate available in middle to late rounds.
Kirby Dach, C (156) -- The rookie surprised many by scoring 23 points (eight goals, 15 assists) in 64 games. Dach is a potential breakout candidate this season with the expectation of a second-line role with elite right wing Kane, and could be on Chicago's top power-play unit to start the season. Dach is an intriguing forward with unknown potential who should be targeted around the 160 range in standard-league drafts. UPDATE: Dach is out long term because of a wrist injury.
Duncan Keith, D (206) -- The veteran was fantasy relevant with 27 points (three goals, 24 assists) in 61 games last season. Keith's main appeal is his likely spot on the top power-play unit, which brings exposure to Chicago's most valuable forwards, and the consistency that has seen him score at least 10 power-play points in 11 of his past 12 seasons.
Other players to consider in late rounds or off waiver wire: Dylan Strome, C/RW; Adam Boqvist, D; Alex Nylander, LW/RW; Malcolm Subban or Collin Delia, G
