Tavares heading to Maple Leafs

John Tavares
signed a seven-year, $77 million contract,
an average annual value of $11 million, with the Toronto Maple Leafs
The 27-year-old center, who became an unrestricted free agent Sunday, tweeted that it was "time to live my childhood dream here in Toronto."
Tavares, who is from the Toronto area, played the first nine seasons of his NHL career with the New York Islanders and has been their captain since the start of the 2013-14 season.

Stastny signs with Golden Knights

Center
Paul Stastn
is
heading to the Vegas Golden Knights.
No terms of the contract were released. Stastny had 53 points (16 goals, 37 assists) in 82 games with the Winnipeg Jets and St. Louis Blues last season, including 13 points (four goals, nine assists) in 19 games with Winnipeg after he was acquired in a trade Feb. 26.
