NHL Morning Skate for November 17

* The Blues celebrated their fourth straight win as they were cheered on by their mothers, who have accompanied the team during its last two victories as part of their moms' trip.

* Trevor Moore scored his first career hat trick to help the Kings inch closer to top spot in the Western Conference.
* Ottawa continued its scoring ways at Canadian Tire Centre and overtook the League lead for most home goals as the club earned a win on its Hockey Fights Cancer Night.
* Thursday's slate is set to feature several streaks on the line as well as milestone games for head coach John Tortorella and the NHL's new "Ironman" Phil Kessel.

BLUES BANK FIVE, STRETCH WINNING STREAK TO 4-0-0

The Blues scored five goals to extend their winning streak to four games, tying the Bruins for the second-longest active run among all teams, as the club continues to flip the script after starting the season 3-8-0. Five of St. Louis' seven wins have come on the road - only three teams have more: Vegas (8), Carolina (6) and New Jersey (6).
* Calle Rosen (1-0-1), who opened the scoring after his mother predicted he would, and Nick Leddy (0-1-1) factored on two of the five Blues goals as St. Louis now has a points percentage by defensemen of 27.4% - only three teams have a better percentage: San Jose (31.4%), Colorado (30.5%) and Winnipeg (28%).

MOORE SCORES FIRST CAREER HAT TRICK AS KINGS SILENCE OILERS

Thousand Oaks, Calif., native Trevor Moore (3-0-3) scored all three of Los Angeles' goals to record his first career hat trick and help the Kings (11-7-1, 23 points) move within three points of the idle Golden Knights for first place in the Western Conference. Los Angeles is 5-1-0 over its past six games dating to Nov. 5, tied with New Jersey (5-0-0) for the most wins in the NHL over that span.
* The Kings held both Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl off the scoresheet for the fifth time (regular season and playoffs combined) - only the Flames (9) have done so more. In doing so, Los Angeles halted the duo's point streaks at 10 and 11 games, respectively - Draisaitl's 11-game run was tied for the longest in the League this season.

SANDERSON HELPS SENATORS EARN WIN ON HOCKEY FIGHTS CANCER NIGHT

Jake Sanderson (0-2-2) factored on two of his club's four goals Wednesday as the Senators boosted their NHL-leading home totals to 39 to earn a win on Hockey Fights Cancer Night at Canadian Tire Centre. Ottawa, which is averaging 3.90 goals per game at home this season, has finished a campaign with a better scoring pace just once in franchise history (2005-06: 3.98 G/PG).
* Sanderson outdueled fellow first-year blueliner Owen Power with a multi-assist outing to boost his season totals to 0-9-9 (16 GP), surpassing Power (0-8-8 in 17 GP) and Minnesota's Calen Addison (0-8-8 in 16 GP) for the League lead in points among rookie defensemen. Both Sanderson and Shane Pinto (8-1-9 in 16 GP) are now within one point of Arizona's Matias Maccelli (1-9-10 in 15 GP) atop the overall rookie points race.
* ICYMI: While it was Ottawa's turn to host a Hockey Fights Cancer Night, Buffalo recently did so Nov. 12, where they had Melissa Vargo - now a cancer survivor - participate in a ceremonial puck drop. Vargo has since sat down with NHL.com to talk about her next steps, which includes an Instagram page with everything from tips to help patients after their diagnosis, to useful products they can seek out, to inserting a little bit of humor into the process.

BRUINS, DEVILS SET TO PUT LENGTHY WINNING STREAKS ON THE LINE THURSDAY

A total of 26 teams are in action Thursday, including the League-leading Bruins (14-2-0, 28 points) who can improve to 10-0-0 at TD Garden this season and the Metropolitan Division-leading Devils (13-3-0, 26 points) who look to extend their winning streak to 11 games. Boston can become the fifth team in NHL history with a season-opening home winning streak of 10 or more contests, while New Jersey can earn victories in 11 straight games for the third time in franchise history.
Some other notable storylines to look out for:
* John Tortorella is set to serve his 1,400th career game as an NHL head coach when the Flyers (7-6-3, 17 points) look to become the first team to defeat the Bruins at TD Garden this season. Tortorella, who was born in Boston, will become the first U.S.-born head coach in League history to reach the milestone.
* Mitchell Marner (3-11-14 in 10 GP) can extend his point streak to 11 games as the Maple Leafs (9-5-3, 21 points) aim to hand the Devils their first loss since Oct. 24 and their first road defeat since Oct. 13. Marner's career high for longest point streak is 13 contests, achieved from March 15 to April 9, 2022 (8-20-28 in 13 GP).
* Jason Robertson (9-9-18 in 9 GP) and Roope Hintz (4-9-13 in 9 GP) look to push their point streaks to double digits as the Central Division-leading Stars (9-5-2, 20 points) visit the Panthers (9-6-1, 19 points) at FLA Live Arena. Dallas owns a one-point edge over Winnipeg (9-4-1, 19 points), which occupies second place in the Central Division and hosts Anaheim (5-10-1, 11 points) on Thursday.
* Phil Kessel is set to become the first player in NHL history to skate in 1,000 consecutive games as the Western Conference-leading Golden Knights (13-4-0, 26 points) host the Coyotes (6-8-1, 13 points). Kessel appeared in 208 contests with Arizona from 2019-20 to 2021-22.
* Clayton Keller (5-9-14 in 10 GP) can become the second player in Coyotes team history (since 1996-97) with a road point streak of 11 or more games. He would join Ray Whitney, who did so from Feb. 16 to April 7, 2012 (5-11-16 in 12 GP).
