LAK CGY tv guide

Each Monday throughout the 2024-25 NHL season, ESPN and NHL Network analyst Kevin Weekes will provide fans with a guide of games that will be nationally televised. Today, a look at games for the fifth week of the season.

Among the highlights, the Los Angeles Kings and Calgary Flames face off on "Prime Monday Night Hockey" and Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid continues his quest for 1,000 points since he was chosen with the No. 1 pick in the 2015 NHL Draft.

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 11

Los Angeles Kings at Calgary Flames (8:30 p.m. ET; Prime, FDSNW)

Pacific Division rivals go at it on Prime Monday Night Hockey. Captain Anze Kopitar leads the Kings with 17 points (five goals, 12 assists) and has 60 points (21 goals, 39 assists) in 69 games against Calgary. The Flames have just three wins in 11 games since starting the season 4-0-0 but have won the past four against the Kings at Scotiabank Saddledome.

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 12

New Jersey Devils at Florida Panthers (7:30 p.m. ET; HULU, ESPN+, TVAS)

The Devils and Panthers play the first of two games in three nights at Amerant Bank Arena. Florida is on a seven-game winning streak and New Jersey had won three in a row before losing 1-0 to the San Jose Sharks at Prudential Center on Sunday.

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 13

Toronto Maple Leafs at Washington Capitals (7:30 p.m. ET; MNMT, SN, TVAS)

Auston Matthews has missed three games with an upper-body injury. If the forward returns, it will be a matchup of the top two goal-scorers in the NHL since the Maple Leafs captain entered the League in 2016-17. Matthews has 373 goals. Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin is second with 338 and 31 from tying Wayne Gretzky for most in NHL history.

THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 14

St. Louis Blues at Buffalo Sabres (7:30 p.m. ET; HULU, ESPN+)

The Blues and Sabres are each trying to reach the Stanley Cup Playoffs after missing last season. Buffalo has been led by forwards Tage Thompson, JJ Peterka and Alex Tuch, and gotten results from goalie Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (6-4-1, 2.64 goals-against average, .910 save percentage). St. Louis is among the bottom third in the League in goals per game (2.53) and hoping some of its big players step up offensively to start a three-game road trip.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 16

Edmonton Oilers at Toronto Maple Leafs (7 p.m. ET; CBC, SNO, SNP, NHLN)

Connor McDavid enters the week with 995 points in 657 games. He has two games before this one to try and reach 1,000 points and become the fourth-fastest player in NHL history to achieve the milestone behind Gretzky (424 games), Mario Lemieux (513) and Mike Bossy (656). McDavid has 35 points (11 goals, 24 assists) in 23 games against Toronto.

Winnipeg Jets at Florida Panthers (7 p.m. ET; SCRIPPS, SNW)

The Jets became the first team in NHL history to win 14 of their first 15 games to start a season and head to Florida to face the defending Stanley Cup champions in the finale of a three-game road trip, a stretch that sees Winnipeg play nine of 10 away from home. The Panthers have shown no signs of a Stanley Cup hangover as one of the best teams in the League this season.
