The Sabres (11-13-1) are the only team with a forward and defenseman among the top 25 in NHL scoring. Tage Thompson (34 points; 16 goals, 18 assists) is on pace for 52 goals and 112 points; Pat LaFontaine (53-148) and Alexander Mogilny (76-127) in 1992-93 were the last to get at least 50 and 100 for Buffalo. Dahlin is on pace for 98 points, which would break Phil Housley's Sabres record (81) for most by a defenseman set in 1989-90.
