Maple Leafs red-hot rolling into 'Hockeytown'

Mitchell Marner has points in 16 straight games and the Toronto Maple Leafs are 6-0-2 in their past eight. That's what the Detroit Red Wings are up against when they host Marner and the Maple Leafs (7 p.m. ET; SN, TVAS, BSDET, ESPN+, SN NOW). Marner has 22 points (five goals, 17 assists) during his personal point streak, the longest in the NHL this season and two games shy of tying the longest in Maple Leafs history. Darryl Sittler (1977-78) and Eddie Olczyk (1989-90) each had 18-game point streaks. Marner's run also includes points in eight straight road games (four goals, six assists), tying an NHL career high he set last season. The Maple Leafs (13-5-5) are hoping to close the month with their 10th win. They were 4-4-2 in October and they're 9-1-3 in November. The Red Wings (11-5-4), though, have proven they're no pushover. They've won four in a row and have points in five straight (4-0-1). As much as Marner is the Maple Leafs player to watch, that's defenseman Filip Hronek for the Red Wings. Hronek has scored goals in four straight games. He'll set the Red Wings record for longest goal streak by a defenseman if he scores against Toronto. -- Dan Rosen, senior writer
