NHL stars donating items for COVID-19 Response Fund auction

Athletes from every major sport, including some notable NHL players, are coming together for a nonprofit organization helping to fight the Coronavirus global pandemic.

Dallas Stars defenseman John Klingberg and Florida Panthers forward Jonathan Huberdeau were the first NHL players to announce donations to the Center for Disaster Philanthropy's COVID-19 Response Fund auction at
athletesrelief.org.
Klingberg donated a signed jersey from the 2020 NHL Winter Classic, which was held at the Cotton Bowl on January 1.

Klingberg and Huberdeau, who is also donating a signed jersey, invited other athletes to contribute items.

Huberdeau's teammate, Mike Hoffman, is also listed on the site as slated to donate, in addition to St. Louis Blues forward David Perron, Pittsburgh Penguins forward Dominik Simon and goalie Matt Murray, Detroit Red Wings defenseman Filip Hronek, Vegas Golden Knights goalie Marc-Andre Fleury and forward Max Pacioretty and Edmonton Oilers defenseman William Lagesson.
NBA All-Stars Stephen Curry and Chris Paul, WNBA All-Star Elena Delle Donne, and Olympians Shaun White, Aly Raisman and Simone Biles are just a few of the many famous names listed as donating items to the auction.
