Those selected for NHL Power Players will participate in meetings conducted remotely throughout the year to provide honest and impartial feedback, suggestions and opinions to the NHL on various topics. The goal of the program is to increase fandom in youth 17 and under.
"We're thrilled to announce the launch of NHL Power Players, our youth advisory board," NHL executive vice president and chief marketing officer Heidi Browning said. "Gen Z is the largest and most diverse generation in our lifetime. They are dreamers, doers, creators and innovators. We recognize the importance of listening to our young fans. NHL Power Players provides a forum to share feedback and collaborate on ideas on how to attract and engage the next generation of hockey fans."
Members of NHL Power Players will have the opportunity to attend NHL games and events, receive NHL Power Players gear and get a certificate of completion at the end of their term.
