The Vegas Golden Knights, winners of nine of their past 10 games, made a surge up the Super 16 power rankings this week by earning enough voting points to climb four spots to No. 7.

The Golden Knights join the Calgary Flames and San Jose Sharks, ranked third and fourth, respectively, as the three Pacific Division teams ranked in the top half of the Super 16.
The Boston Bruins moved up one spot to No. 2 behind the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Pittsburgh Penguins took the biggest hit, dropping four spots to No. 11.
The same 16 teams were ranked for the third straight week.
To create the power rankings, each of the 13 participating staff members puts together his or her version of what the Super 16 should look like. Those are submitted and a point total is assigned to each.
The team picked first is given 16 points, second gets 15, third gets 14 and so on down to No. 16, which gets one point.

1. Tampa Bay Lightning (57-13-4)

Hit:The Lightning are 19-4-0 against teams in the Atlantic Division, and they are 39-6-0 against teams in the Eastern Conference following their 5-4 overtime win at the Washington Capitals on Wednesday.
Miss: Defensemen Dan Girardi and Anton Stralman each missed his sixth consecutive game Wednesday because of a lower-body injury. The Lightning announced Girardi is out indefinitely.

2. Boston Bruins (44-20-9)

Total points: 189

Hit:David Krejci, the center who has played in all 73 games this season, needs one goal to give the Bruins five 20-goal scorers (David Pastrnak, 31; Brad Marchand, 31; Patrice Bergeron, 28; Jake DeBrusk, 23) in the same season for the first time since 2013-14, when Bergeron (30), Jarome Iginla (30), Marchand (25), Milan Lucic (24) and Reilly Smith (20) all did it.
Miss:Although Pastrnak returned from a left-thumb injury in a 5-0 win against the New York Islanders on Tuesday, the Bruins injury list still includes four regulars with defensemen Matt Grzelcyk and Kevan Miller each out with an upper-body injury, defenseman Torey Krug out with a concussion, and forward Marcus Johansson out with a lung contusion.

3. Calgary Flames (45-21-7)

Hit:The Flames lead the NHL averaging 4.25 goals per game at home. They are second with 153 home goals in their 36 home games. The Lightning are first with 157 home goals but have played three more home games than the Flames.
Miss:They're 28th in goals-against per game at home (3.19) and are last in home save percentage (.883) despite allowing the fewest shots on goal per game at home (27.3).

4. San Jose Sharks (43-22-8)

Total points:161

Hit:The Sharks play seven of their final nine games against teams that aren't currently in a playoff position, including their next four against the Los Angeles Kings, Anaheim Ducks, Detroit Red Wings and Chicago Blackhawks.
Miss: They have lost three in a row in regulation and have allowed at least four goals in their past four games, including a 7-3 loss to the Golden Knights on Monday.

5. Washington Capitals (43-23-8)

Total points:159

Hit:Nicklas Backstrom's assist on Tom Wilson's goal in a 4-1 win against the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday was his 50th of the season. The center is the 26th player in NHL history to have six consecutive seasons with at least 50 assists.
Miss:Michal Kempny sustained a lower-body injury in the 5-4 overtime loss against the Lightning on Wednesday. Capitals coach Todd Reirden said the defenseman will miss some time, and will likely have an update later this week.

6. Winnipeg Jets (44-25-4)

Hit:The Jets have scored at least one power-play goal in five straight games (5-for-14) and in 12 of 14 games since Feb. 20 (14-for-47).
Miss:Winnipeg is without injured defensemen Dustin Byfuglien (lower body, missed past 16 games) and Josh Morrissey (upper body, 12 games).

7. Vegas Golden Knights (41-27-5)

Hit:The Golden Knights have won three games in a row and nine of 10 since acquiring forward Mark Stone in a trade from the Ottawa Senators on Feb. 25. Stone has scored in four of his past five games.
Miss:Goalie Marc-Andre Fleury has missed the past two games with a lower-body injury and is day to day.

8. Toronto Maple Leafs (44-25-5)

Total points: 110

Hit:William Nylander has six assists in his past five games, including four at even strength playing on a line with center Auston Matthews, following a 4-2 win at the Buffalo Sabres on Wednesday. Nylander had 12 assists in his first 41 games this season, mostly playing away from Matthews at even strength.
Miss: The Maple Leafs have played their past 12 games without defensemen Travis Dermott (shoulder) and Jake Gardiner (back).

9. New York Islanders (42-24-7)

Hit:Thomas Greiss is 3-1-0 with a 1.25 goals-against average, a .959 save percentage (116 saves on 121 shots) and one shutout in his past four starts. He was named the NHL First Star of the Week for the week ending March 17.
Miss:Valtteri Filppula, the Islanders' No. 3 center, is out four weeks with an upper-body injury, and right wing Jordan Eberle is day to day with an upper-body injury.

10. Nashville Predators (42-27-5)

Total points: 101

Hit:The Predators have won three games in a row by a combined score of 10-3 even though they've gone 0-for-4 on the power play. Pekka Rinne has allowed one goal on 48 shots in his past two starts.
Miss: Kyle Turris has four points (one goal, three assists) in 17 games since returning from an injury that kept him out for 17 games. He was a healthy scratch in back-to-back road games last week against the Kings and Sharks.

11. Pittsburgh Penguins (39-24-11)

Hit:Jake Guentzel has an NHL career-high and Penguins-high 37 goals, four more than center Sidney Crosby. The forward is on pace to join former Pittsburgh forward Chris Kunitz as the only players beside Crosby and Evgeni Malkin to lead the Penguins in goals since the 2003-04 season, when Ryan Malone scored 22. Kunitz led the Penguins with 22 goals in the 48-game 2012-13 season.
Miss: Malkin is week to week with an upper-body injury. He's missed the past two games, losses to the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday (2-1 in overtime) and the Carolina Hurricanes on Tuesday (3-2 in a shootout).

12. Carolina Hurricanes (40-25-7)

Total points: 67

Hit:The Hurricanes have 40 wins in a season for the first time since 2010-11, when they missed the playoffs by two points. They hold the first wild card into the playoffs from the Eastern Conference, four points ahead of the Montreal Canadiens with one game in hand.
Miss:They've scored on the power play in one of their past nine games, going 2-for-21 in that span.

13. St. Louis Blues (38-27-8)

Hit: David Perron has five points (three goals, two assists) in three games since returning to the lineup after missing 24 games with a concussion. He has a point in each of his past 16 games played (nine goals, 12 assists) and is the first Blues player to have a streak of at least 15 consecutive games with a point since Pierre Turgeon did it in 1999-00.
Miss:Forward Alexander Steen has no points in his past 11 games.

14. Columbus Blue Jackets (40-29-4)

Hit:Alexander Radulov has nine points (seven goals, two assists) in seven games since coach Jim Montgomery scratched him against the New York Rangers on March 5 because he was late to the morning skate that day.
Miss: Jason Spezza was a healthy scratch for the first time this season in a 4-2 win against the Florida Panthers on Tuesday after playing a season-low 7:49 in a 3-2 shootout loss to the Vancouver Canucks on Sunday. Spezza has no points in his past five games and no goals in his past 10.

16. Montreal Canadiens (38-28-7)

Hit: Carey Price has a 1.52 goals-against average and .948 save percentage (110 saves on 116 shots) in four starts since he allowed eight goals on 29 shots in an 8-2 loss at Anaheim on March 8.
Miss:Montreal has scored nine goals in the past six games when a goalie was in the net for the opposition. The Canadiens also have two empty-net goals.
