There are two days remaining in the NHL regular season, and the races for the Rocket Richard Trophy, awarded to the leading goal-scorer, and the Art Ross Trophy, which goes to the points leader, are wide open.

Alex Ovechkin will attempt to hold off Patrik Laine and William Karlsson to win the NHL goal-scoring title for the sevnth time when the forwards complete their regular season Saturday.
Ovechkin, who leads the NHL with 47 goals, and the Washington Capitals host the New Jersey Devils. Laine (44 goals) and the Winnipeg Jets host the Chicago Blackhawks; and Karlsson (43 goals) and the Vegas Golden Knights visit the Calgary Flames.
With a hat trick, Ovechkin would reach 50 goals for the eighth time, one short of the NHL record shared by Wayne Gretzky and Mike Bossy.
Nikita Kucherov reached 100 points for the first time in his NHL career and retook second place in the scoring race with a goal and an assist for the Tampa Bay Lightning in a 7-5 win against the Buffalo Sabres on Friday. The forward, who has 39 goals and 61 assists, trails Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid by six points and leads Philadelphia Flyers forward Claude Giroux by one.
