Zucker

Welcome to the NHL Trade Buzz. There are 14 days remaining until the 2020 NHL Trade Deadline (Feb. 24 at 3 p.m. ET), and NHL.com has all the important news, rumblings and analysis heading toward the deadline.
Here is a look around the League at the latest deadline doings:

Minnesota Wild

Jason Zucker was traded by the Wild to the Pittsburgh Penguins for forward Alex Galchenyuk, defenseman prospect Calen Addison and a first-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft or 2021 NHL Draft on Monday.
The trade came one day after Zucker said he wasn't going to dwell on trade rumors.
"Whatever happens, happens," Zucker told The Athletic before a 3-2 loss to the Colorado Avalanche at Xcel Energy Center on Sunday. "I'm done dealing with it. I'm done worrying about it."
Zucker has three years remaining on the five-year contract with an annual-average value of $5.5 million he signed on July 25, 2018. He has 29 points (14 goals, 15 assists) in 45 games this season.
Wild general manager Bill Guerin told NHL.com on last week that he would give the players a "fair shake" entering the trade deadline.
"They're getting a great opportunity and I want to see them succeed. But we need results," Guerin said. "We need to be more consistent, obviously, in the win column but mainly in our compete. When we compete and we play hard we're a good team, and we're going to have to do that down the stretch if we're going to make the playoffs."
The Wild (26-23-6) are 3-1-0 in their past four games and are four points behind the Calgary Flames for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Western Conference.

Los Angeles Kings

The Kings have made one trade this month and players know there are more moves on the way before the deadline.
"I mean, it's no secret," defenseman Alec Martinez said after a 4-1 loss to the New York Rangers on Sunday. "There's plenty of talk about a lot of guys in this room, myself included, but that's the way the business works. We all know what we signed up for. I'm no dummy."
The Kings (19-33-5), who are last in the Pacific Division, traded goalie Jack Campbell and forward Kyle Clifford to the Toronto Maple Leafs for forward Trevor Moore, a third-round pick in the 2020 NHL Draft and a third-round pick in the 2021 NHL Draft on Wednesday. The 32-year-old Martinez, who won the Stanley Cup with the Kings in 2012 and 2014 and has one year remaining on his contract, is one of several Kings who could be traded at the deadline.
"Everyone knows what's going on and what happens when you don't perform on the ice that changes are made," said Martinez, who has eight points (one goal, seven assists) in 39 games. "We saw it [five] days ago with [Clifford] and Jack. We're all human beings, you think about it, but at the end of the day it's my job to go out there and play as hard as I can, just like it's everyone's job in this room. You've got to be professional about things."

Columbus Blue Jackets

Seth Jones is out indefinitely after the defenseman was placed on injured reserve with an ankle injury on Monday.
Jones sustained the injury midway through the first period of a 2-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday. He's the latest and biggest loss for the Blue Jackets, who have lost 291 man games to injury his season entering their game against the Tampa Bay Lightning at Nationwide Arena on Monday (7:30 p.m. ET; NBCSN).
"I'm not going to go into a whole litany of things about missing him and this and that. We're going to play," Blue Jackets coach John Tortorella said. "Put other people in line and play, just like we've been doing for the past two months."
Columbus has depth at defenseman but finding another player at the deadline could help. The Blue Jackets (30-17-9) are in third place in the Metropolitan Division, four points behind the second-place Pittsburgh Penguins and one point ahead of the fourth-place New York Islanders.

New York Rangers

Ryan Strome is hoping to get a new contract with the Rangers. But if the 26-year-old forward is part of a trade at the deadline, it won't be unfamiliar territory.
"After being traded twice now, it's nothing that I can't handle," Strome told ESPN. "But I definitely want to stay in New York. I'm comfortable here. And I finally feel like I've found a really good fit."
Strome, who would become a restricted free agent on July 1, was traded to the Edmonton Oilers from the New York Islanders for forward Jordan Eberle on June 22, 2017. He was traded to the Rangers from the Oilers for forward Ryan Spooner on Nov. 16, 2018. He told ESPN that his agent hasn't had contract talks with the Rangers. Strome has 45 points (12 goals, 33 assists) in 54 games this season.
The Rangers (27-23-4) are nine points behind the Carolina Hurricanes for the second wild card into the playoffs from the Eastern Conference.
