NEW YORK – Ottawa Senators forward Nick Cousins has been fined $2,083.33, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for elbowing Buffalo Sabres defenseman Jacob Bryson during NHL Game No. 654 in Ottawa on Thursday, Jan. 9, the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 1:23 of the third period. Cousins was assessed a minor penalty for elbowing.

The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
