Nick Ritchie will have a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety on Saturday.
The Arizona Coyotes forward is facing discipline for slashing Anaheim Ducks defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk. The incident occurred in the final second of the first period during the Coyotes' 5-0 loss at Gila River Arena on Friday. Ritchie was assessed a minor penalty for roughing against Ducks forward Dominik Simon after the incident. The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: slashing. However, the Department of Player Safety retains the right to make adjustments to the infraction upon review.
