The Bruins regularly
honor Boston-based champions
after each wins its respective championship. On Tuesday, they put the NWHL champions, who defeated the Minnesota Whitecaps 4-3 for their second title Saturday, on the arena scoreboard, and members of the Bruins gave them stick taps.
The reception from Boston has overwhelmed members of the Pride, including forward Christina Putigna, an Ontario native who has felt right at home in New England.
"I'm going to take on that role as a New Englander as a [New England Patriots] fan and a Bruins fan while I'm here," Putigna told NESN on the Bruins pregame show. "I'm definitely calling Boston home for sure right now."
