NYI@CBJ: Blue Jackets host Ohio State women's hockey

The Columbus Blue Jackets share a city with champions, so on Tuesday, those champions took the ice for the ceremonial puck drop.

The Ohio State women's hockey team won the first national championship in program history with a 3-2 win over Minnesota-Duluth on March 20. About a week later, captain Liz Schepers performed the ceremonial puck drop with her team behind her at Nationwide Arena before the Blue Jackets game against the New York Islanders.

Before their title run, the Buckeyes had never advanced past the national semifinal.

Columbus seems to be THE hockey town nowadays.
