Connor McDavid Edmonton Oilers

Connor McDavid is not one to back down from a challenge.

The Edmonton Oilers star and
2017 Hart Trophy winner
responded after Canadian bobsledder Kaillie Humphries threw down the gauntlet on Twitter back on June 27.
On Tuesday, McDavid's official Twitter account posted a video of him participating in Humphries' "lateral jump and sprawl" challenge.

The idea is to put a heavy bag on the floor, and execute six sprawl jumps as quickly as possible. But, instead of a traditional sprawl jump, where you would jump straight up in the air, you have to jump laterally over the heavy bag.
Humphries, a two-time Olympic champion and two-time world champion bobsledder, completes the task in an impressive 9.22 seconds. She then challeneged McDavid, Brent Burns of the San Jose Sharks and baseball Kevin Pillar of the Toronto Blue Jays on Twitter.

McDavid's clock at the end of his exercise read 7.13 seconds.
But speed is nothing new to McDavid, who also won the
Bridgestone NHL Fastest Skater
at the 2017 Coors Light NHL All-Star Skills Competition back in January.
